REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) Prabowo Subianto and Prime Minister (PM) of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed the importance of increased bilateral cooperation in the halal, blue economy, health to information technology (IT) and communication sectors.

The affirmation was made in a joint statement of the 13th Annual Consultation between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim in Jakarta on Tuesday (29/7), which was released on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) of the Republic of Indonesia on the same day.

The two leaders noted that Indonesia has implemented the blue economy, as an approach to sustainable management of marine and fisheries resources through various programs.

To that end, the two leaders welcomed the approach and encouraged officials from both sides to explore bilateral cooperation in the sector, taking into account ongoing regional initiatives within the ASEAN Blue Economic Framework.

Furthermore, the two leaders also appreciated the cooperation in the field of information and communication technology and internet governance between the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association.

They welcomed the strengthening of bilateral relations in the digital realm, particularly in areas such as Internet Protocol address management and sustainable technology development.
