Ministry of Foreign Affairs: All Board of Peace Related Agendas Suspended

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Indonesian government suspends all Board of Peace (BoP) talks following the war between the United States (US) -Zionist Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The U.S.-Israeli aggression against Tehran provoked Iran's retaliatory resistance to the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories and targeted Gulf Arab states that serve as U.S. military bases.

Indonesia is also urged to immediately exit the BoP in view of the fact that the US and Israel as chairmen, as well as BoP members who carried out offensive aggression against Iran. Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Yvonne Mewengkang said that President Prabowo has not withdrawn Indonesia's participation from US President Donald Trump's BoP.

The government, still continues to make a bad assessment of Indonesia's continued membership in the Peace Council for Gaza, Palestine. Including Indonesia's assessment of helping people in Gaza, but with a perspective of the widespread impact of US-Zionists attacking Iran in recenttimes.

“We say that we continue to conduct a thorough assessment of various developments in the region, especially those occurring in the Middle East,” Yvonne said in Jakarta, Friday (6/3/2026).

Due to the situation, Yvonne said, Indonesia suspended all agendas related to BoP abroad. “That any discussion of the Board of Peace be suspended, or its terms are put on hold,” Yvonne said.

According to him, all meetings, discussions, and international forums discussing BoP were suspended. “And there has been no meeting, or special discussion of the Board of Peace in the past week. And as we said, all current BoP-related discussions are on hold,” Yvonne said.

Despite this, he said, Indonesia still remains in BoP membership. And there has been no decision from the results of the evaluation in the presidential environment, to exclude Indonesia from participation in the Peace Council for Gaza, Palestine.

“Our participation in the Board of Peace remains consistent in support of stability and reconstruction in Palestine,” Yvonne said.
