“With regard to the Deputy Governor of BI, it started from the resignation letter of one of the Deputy Governors,” Prasetyo said at the Presidential Palace Complex on Monday (19/1/2026).

According to Prasetyo, according to the applicable mechanism, President Prabowo Subianto has sent a Presidential Letter (Surpres) to Parliament. The surpress contains the names of the candidates who will take the fit and proper test in Parliament.

“There are several names submitted, one of which is indeed true and the name we propose is Mr. Wamenkeu in the name of Mr Thomas Djiwandono,” Prasetyo said.

He named the number of candidates submitted as three, but did not detail the full names. “Three names proposed. Anyone, I will check later, does not memorize everything one by one,” he said.
